I went through a phase with some of these. Actually it was online lessons from a Welsh artist, Dolores Phelps. She is one of the artistic grandchildren of the great Nita Engle (1925-2019). Dolores put her own spin on these free-wheeling techniques with a very moody palette and both me and my wife found a lot of joy in the course. For my part, I’ve been able to add more “looseness” to my work.
