Shore lunch, 12x16in watercolor

I was going to trash this one, but my wife talked me out of it. She is (almost) always right, so I kept it and it has grown on me. Reflections could use some work – those are pretty difficult to get right. However, it did give me the same feeling I had while on a fishing trip in Canada. We’d go out for the morning and the guide would pick one of the many isolated islands in the lake, pull over, and cook the morning’s catch for lunch. I don’t usually eat fish – due to unresolved trauma from working in the seafood department in a Midwestern grocery store 35 years ago – but it doesn’t get much fresher than this.
